    MediaTek Imagiq

The smartphone has become the default camera for almost everyone. It has to be highly responsive, while also working seamlessly and reliably on any moment's whim, whether it's capturing a moment, recording a clip to share with friends and family, or streaming directly to fans. MediaTek Imagiq works behind the scenes to always give the result you expect, wherever and whenever you're behind the camera, day or night.

    Photo & Video Enhancements

MediaTek Imagiq supports a wide variety of sensor types and lenses, enabling brands an unlimited scope to build innovative multi-camera smartphones.

This includes sensors with extreme resolutions, sensors used exclusively for popular functions like bokeh capture, mono sensors for enhanced light sensitivity or specialist sensors for unique applications. Accompanying lenses can accommodate a multitude of capture styles including zoom, wide, macro, or just everyday photography.

    cameralense
MediaTek Dimensity provides ISP-native support for RGBW sensors, affording up to 34% better power efficiency than converting between RGBW and Bayer. RGBW sensors can provide more precise light sensitivity, enabling better HDR captures and low-light performance, with greater detail and texture definition.

MediaTek has developed industry-leading multicore, HDR-ISP designs that provide extremely high performance with exceptional power efficiency. Our flagship 18-bit HDR-ISP fusion goes beyond even (14-bit) high-end DSLR cameras, capturing more of the scene’s luminosity detail, which is then passed through any post-processing to the end capture, ready for even next-generation HDR-capable displays and TVs.

    HDR

MediaTek Imagiq is first to market offering multi-frame 4K HDR video. It captures frames at different exposures and intelligently fuses them into a single video stream, all in real-time. The incredible results allow users to accurately and effortlessly capture an event’s full spectacle even in environments with extremes of bright or darkness.

    Multi-Frame 4K HDR_Video

Using HDR-ISP's that capture up to 18-bits of detail, which produce up to 9Gbps data, our flagship-grade Imagiq ISPs can enable up to three cameras simultaneously recording HDR video at once. This gives users new cinematic and streaming experiences by capturing tele, main and wide views from the same perspective, or front and rear cameras simultaneously.

    Simultaneous 3X Camera HDR Videography

MediaTek’s range of flagship-class, HDR-native ISPs support multiple, high resolution cameras at 30fps. Using the assistive, high performance hardware depth engine and AI processing enables users to record and view bokeh (soft background segmentation) in video, in real-time and with incredibly high quality.

Video Bokeh with Real‐time Live View - Recording

Imagiq Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) provides additional stabilization for ‘action camera’-grade results, so you can even record up to 8K video even while on the move. Low-power with high-quality, this advanced technology results in smoother videos you’ll want to share.

    Action-Camera

Imagiq’s Multi-Scale Noise Reduction improves the quality of video previews and recordings by monitoring and compensating for erroneous pixels in real-time, resulting in a noticeably clearer image.

    Noice-Reduction

Applying 4-cell remoasic to high-resolution sensors to provide up to 10X lossless zoom, giving smartphones an extra zoom camera without needing the hardware space, power and cost commitment. Used in conjunction with video EIS and the in-line warping engine, it provides stable video recording even when the smartphone is handheld.

    Lossless Zoom

Shallow Depth of Field (DoF), or ‘bokeh’, is a popular technique that draws focus onto a single object within a frame, while softening the surrounding area.

Using the assistive, high performance hardware depth engine when capturing, users view live-previews of the bokeh effect, in real-time and with incredibly high quality before capturing the moment. By using dedicated hardware this typically compute-intensive task is now extremely power efficient and acts without latency.

    Zero‐latency Hardware Depth Engine

Imagiq’s zero-latency Warping Engine provides automatic, accurate, and reliable corrections for lens distortion and other image transformations when recording video. Using dedicated hardware, this typically compute-intensive task is now extremely power efficient.
