The ASUS Chromebook CM30 Detachable (CM3001), powered by a MediaTek Kompanio 520 processor, has been selected by Arakawa Ward (Tokyo) for the second phase of the GIGA School Initiative to improve the learning process of its students, and revolutionize digital transformation of school administration.
The case study, commissioned by ASUS, investigates the history of digital transformation in the forward-thinking Arakawa Ward, which has been promoting ICT education since first introducing student devices in 2013.
Quotes from the report:
“The CM3001 is equipped with a high-definition USI stylus pen that provides a natural writing experience and can be stored in the device. It is automatically fast-charged when stored (15 seconds of charging gives you about 45 minutes of use), so you can take it out and use it whenever you want. The previous device also came with a pen, but the shape of the pen made it difficult to use. "Now I can take it out smoothly, so I like it because I can draw easily."
“The other students also had a positive impression of the CM3001, saying that they wanted it for a long time, and did not seem keen to let it go anytime soon.”
“In addition, the lightweight and compact CM3001 fits neatly in a bag and is easy to carry by hand. Although he has dropped the device on occasion, it has never broken, and he says he feels very reassured by its sturdiness.”
“Regarding the appeal of the ASUS Chromebook CM30 Detachable (CM3001), third-year junior high school student A also cited "quick startup" and "battery life" as the most important points.”
“I tend to forget to charge it, but even so, I can often use it until the sixth period. In some cases, it can last for three days. I move between classrooms a lot, so sometimes I forget to shut it down, so I'm very happy that the battery lasts so long."
